And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, and to love kindness
and mercy, and to humble yourself and walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8)

Follow Your Heart

Hello friends!  All of this rain and cloudy weather is perfect for getting in some stamping time.  Today I have a sneak peek of some new stamps and dies being released tomorrow by Our Daily Bread designs using the sketch today on Splitcoaststampers.

Creative Nugget:  A piece of mixed media paper was watercolored with distress and oxide inks and cut with the new Scalloped Chain Die.  The same die was used to cut a white panel which was adhered to a gray piece of card stock.  The watercolored pieces were then randomly popped back into the die to create the background.  The images from the Happy Wedding Day set were colored with Copic Markers and cut with matching dies before popping them onto paper from the Wedding Wishes Collection.  The sentiment was white embossed on a vellum Pennant Flag die cut.

This card will also be submitted for the following challenges:

Just Us Girls #395 - Photo Week

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Be sure to stop back tomorrow to see more details and samples using the new ODBD June Release.

All About YOU

Hello friends!   I hope you are having a good week.  It was time to let a few friends know just how much they are loved and appreciated and since we are in the midst of spring, there's no better way to do this than to send flowers.  My first card was designed using the unique SC646 sketch over at Splitcoaststampers today.

Creative Nugget:  Distress Oxide inks were applied to the Floral Pattern Background stamp, spritzed with water, and stamped onto one of the triangular panels.  Another panel was stamped with the Typewriter Text Background and the third stamped with a Pretty Potted Floral and colored with Copic Markers.  The flower was stamped a second time so the flower could be fussy cut and popped up.  The sentiment is from a new SNSS stamp set not released yet called All About You.  The panels were stitched together and a Majestic Monarch and ribbon were added.

My second card was watercolored with Kuretake water colors.

Creative Nugget:  The single flower from the Mason Jar Bouquet was randomly stamped, embossed with Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder and watercolored on water color paper. Skinny Caps Alpha by SNSS was used to spell and white emboss the word you on a watercolored circular panel.  A sentiment from the Treasured stamp set was embossed on a vellum banner and a frame added to finish the card.

These cards will be submitted for the following challenges:

Thanks so much for stopping by...have a wonderful spring day!

Looking Back at the ODBD May 2017 Release

Hello friends!  Today we are taking another look at the Our Daily Bread Designs May 2017 Release!  The Bread Stick Designers have been having a lot of fun making teacher appreciation cards and projects just in time for the end of another school year.

I decided to use the fabulous new stamps and dies from the May release to make a Surprise Box.

Creative Nugget:  Each panel of the Surprise Box was lined with papers from the Birthday Bash and Birthday Brights Collections. The sentiments are from the Seeds of Knowledge stamp set. The Notebook Paper Stamp and Die Duo was used for the front of the card and was cut down to fit the front of the box.  Dies used for the pop ups include the Clipboard Dies, A+ Apples, Balloons & Streamers, Bitty Borders, and the Mini Bow Dies, and the Clouds and Raindrops Die was used to make the seeds on the apple.  A piece of acetate was sandwiched between two of the magnifying glass die cuts.

Here are some other views of the A+ Teacher Surprise Box:

Thank a Teacher

Hello friends!  Another school year is coming to an end.  I just wanted to thank the many dedicated teachers out there who work tirelessly to provide outstanding educational experiences for the students in their classrooms!

Creative Nugget:  The Ways to Use It Challenge today on Splitcoaststampers was to use metal so out came some metallic card stock.  Alcohol inks were applied to one of the sheets from which the Teacher's Apples were die cut and the remaining piece was embossed for the background panel.  The small apple and the sentiment from the Seeds of Knowledge stamp set were stamped using Jet Black Archival Ink.  The clip of the clipboard, the paper clips, and the diagonal panel were cut from another piece of the gold metallic card stock.  Other custom dies from Our Daily Bread Designs used include: Notebook Paper Stamp & Die Duo, Clipboard Dies, Pierced Rectangles Dies, and the Lattice Background Die was used for the embossing.   The MOJO497 Sketch for this week was used for the design.

This card will be submitted for the following challenges:

Double Dutch Cross

Hello friends!  I had a chance to play with a new to me fold for the Technique Lovers Challenge yesterday at Splitcoaststampers...a Double Dutch Fold.

Creative Nugget: Each panel of the Dutch Fold was lined with Smokey Shadow card stock and papers from the Christian Faith Collection by Our Daily Bread Designs.  The cross from the Sunday School Teacher stamp set was embossed and cut with the matching Crosses Die and mounted to Vintage Border and Flourished Vintage Pattern die cuts.  A small Bitty Border was added.

Pierced Rectangles, Pierced Circles, and Circle Dies were used to cut the layers for the inside of the card and the sentiment.  The small cross from the Sunday school Teacher stamp set was stamped over the embossed sentiment and a tiny silver pearl added.

In addition to the Technique Lovers Challenge this card will be submitted for the following challenges:

A Gem of a Challenge #193 - Embossing Wet or Dry

Hello friends!  Welcome to the Our Daily Bread Designs May 2017 Release!  It's about that time to begin thinking about the end of another school year.  This month, ODBD is honoring teachers.  The stamp sets and dies being released are perfect for creating projects for that special secular or Bible teacher.  Of course the apples being released would be appropriate for any greeting throughout the year. Wait until you see all the fabulous gifts the Bread Stick designers have prepared for your viewing!

Three randomly selected winners will each receive a $25 gift certificate to the ODBD Store to be used toward the purchase of ODBD Stamps found in the "stamps column" of the website just for commenting on the Design Team cards!  You have until May 2, 2017 at 9:00 p.m. EDT to leave your comments on the Designers' Blogs for a chance to win!  The Winners will be posted on the ODBD Blog on May 3rd, so be sure to check back there to see if you won!

My first sample was made using the new Class Act stamp set.
Creative Nugget: Yellow card stock and paper from the Chalkboard Collection were cut with a Pierced Rectangle Die and layered onto the card base.  The stack of books image from the new Class Act stamp set was colored with Copic Markers in primary colors, cut with a Pierced Ovals Die and mounted to a red Oval.  The Clipboard Die was used to cut the chalkboard and distress inks were swiped across the kraft card stock to make it look like wood.  The sentiment was white embossed on Chalkboard Collection paper and mounted to the base of the chalkboard.  A Layering Heart, a Mini Stitched Heart, a Pennant Flag, and a Double Stitched Flag dies as well as some red Baker's twine were used to complete the card.

My second sample is a Book Fold Card made with the Class Act stamp set, The Notebook Paper Stamp and Die Duo, and the Clip Board Dies.
Creative Nugget: Chalkboard Collection papers, and kraft, red, white and metallic silver card stocks were used to layer the panels of the Book Fold Card and create the teacher tools.  The Clipboard Dies were used to create the adorable clipboard and paper clip while the Notebook Paper Stamp and Die Duo was used for the paper clipped to the board.  The Class Act stamp set was again used for the image and the sentiments.  The A+ Apples die cut and some red Baker's twine were added to finish the front of the book.

Teacher tools and sentiments can be seen when the book is opened!
