A Little Bun in the Oven

Hello friends!  Well snow is on the way and DH had his school canceled for today, so it looks like we'll be spending a warm, cozy day at home…which is actually a good thing because I have some baking to do to get ready for Thanksgiving tomorrow.  Thinking of baking reminded me of this adorable sentiment from one of the new stamp sets recently released by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, Baked for You.  Using the Splitcoaststampers Sketch for today, I thought I'd take a break from creating Christmas cards to pop out this shaker baby card.

Creative Nugget:  Baked Brown Sugar, Pool Party, and some old Bo Bunny papers found in my stash were used to closely follow the sketch.  A little scallop border cut with one of the dies from the Bookmarks & More Die Set helped to separate the panels.  The circle panel on the sketch was turned into a shaker with the  bun in the oven colored with Copic Markers.  The white seed beads in the shaker were colored with Copic refills to match the DP.  The sentiment was embossed and buttons and Baker's Twine were added to finish the card.

Here are the supplies used to make this fun card:

To celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday, Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps will be having a Black Friday/Cyber Monday Sale, so be sure to head on over to the store and check out the goodies on Friday!

Thanks so much for stopping by…have a wonderful day!

Snowy Hello

Hello again friends!  WOW…two posts in two days!  I love checking out the Featured Stamper Challenge on Splitcoaststampers early on a Sunday morning before heading to church.  Cheryl Rowley is the Featured Stamper for today and I have long been a follower of hers, so had to play along.  I chose THIS adorable snowman to CASE.

Creative Nugget: I am in LOVE with these Hillside Edges Dies just released by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps…they were perfect for my snowy design.  The background was sponged with Memento inks and splattered with watered down acrylic paint.  Some modeling paste was added to the frame through a Crafter's Workshop stencil.  The cute snowman image was designed by my friend Diane Zechman and is part of the Snowy Hello stamp set.  It was colored with Copic Markers, fussy cut, and popped onto the frame.  The sentiment is from the Christmas Light stamp set also available from SNSS.

Here are the stamp sets and dies used to create this card:

Congratulations, Cheryl…enjoy your day in the limelight!

Snowy Hello will be entered in the following challenges:
Spplitcoaststampers - FS407
CAS(E) this Sketch - CAS(E) this Sketch #101

This is the day the Lord has made.  Let us be glad and rejoice in it!
What a perfect day to praise the Lord!

Peaceful Poinsettias

Hello Blogger Friends!  Since the weather has turned bitterly cold, I am inclined to stay tucked away in my warm and cozy crafting room…soooo, I have two cards to share today!  I am hoping that all of my friends in the Buffalo area are able to do the same...praying you are safe and warm!

B-burlap, L-layers, S-stitching, S-stenciled sponging, I-impression plate, G-gold thread

Creative Nugget:  Both sentiments are from the His Birth stamp set released by Our Daily Bread Designs earlier this month…love these sentiments, and were stamped in Archival Red Geranium ink on Vintage cream card stock!   A piece of DP from the Christmas Paper Collection 2013 was stitched to the left side following the Freshly Made Sketch 163 for this week.  A strip of burlap, a poinsettia made with the ODBD Custom Peaceful Poinsettias Dies, some ODBD Custom Fancy Foliage, and my new favorite accessory…metallic thread was added as an accent.  Sponging through a stencil adds a bit of texture and gives the card a vintage look.

This card will be submitted for the following challenges:
Splitcoaststampers - Inspiration Challenge 468
Our Daily Bread Shining the Light - ODBDSLC218 Blessing Word Challenge
Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes #159
Freshly Made Sketches - FMS163

The Poinsettias were also used for this second card along with some other fabulous dies from Our Daily Bread Designs.

B-blue, L-layers, E-embossing, S-stars, S-sponging, I-ink, N-netting, G-Glitter, S-Sentiment

Creative Nugget: This card was inspired my Monika's Card with Stars and I love the way it turned out.  The only stamping is the sentiment from the His Birth stamp set released by Our Daily Bread Designs earlier this month.  It was inked up with VersaMark then a color that matched the DP so it could be clear embossed. The DP is from the Christmas Paper Collection 2014 by ODBD. The following custom dies also by ODBD were layered around the sentiment…Flourished Star Pattern Dies, Sparkling Star Dies, Peaceful Poinsettias Dies, and Fancy Foliage Dies.  A bit of tulle netting and some metallic thread were added to finish the card.

Two more Christmas cards finished!

That's all for today…hope you've been inspired by your visit. Please stop by again…love hearing from you!

Hugs,
Cathymac

Red and White for Christmas

Hello friends!  With all the record snowfalls parts of our country are being blanketed with, I decided to whip up a few more Christmas cards using mostly white with a few red accents.   I've been very content be confined to my warm, cozy home during this blast of freezing weather while the car is in for repairs!  LOL!

Creative Nugget:  After using the new Bare Tree Die just released by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps to cut several trees, the trunks were woven through the branches to form the wreath for this Christmas card.  The chickadee image from the God's Purpose stamp set was colored with Copic Markers, cut with the God's Purpose Chickadee Die, and mounted over the opening in the wreath.  A bright red bow and a few sequins finish the card.

Creative Nugget:  This scene was made using the sketch from this week on Splitcoaststampers and the new Hillside Edges Dies by SNSS.  The sky was sponged and splattered with acrylic paint. The scene was framed in red and the Christmas sentiment was embossed in red on another one of the Hillside Edges.  The tree from the Forest Silhouettes Dies was added along with a little bird die cut from Real Red card stock.  A big red bow made from seam binding was added to finish the card.

Here are the supplies from the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store used to create these wintery Christmas cards:

Welcome to SNSS November 2014 Release

Hello, sweet friends!   Welcome to Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps November 2014 Release Day!  It's beginning to feel more and more like winter here on the east coast and with Thanksgiving right around the corner, Christmas cannot be far behind!  Since November is the birthday month for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and December the month we celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, our release this month is perfect for creating birthday projects, Christmas and winter cards, and all season cards that can be created and given all year long!

Be sure to stop in at the Sweet 'n Sassy Blog to see all of the wonderful new products being released today.  Then grab a nice hot beverage and relax as you click on each of the Linky Tool thumbnails to hop to each of the Design Divas' blogs to see some fabulous inspiration for each of the new stamp and die sets.

One random commenter from one of the DT blogs will be selected to win a $10 Gift Code to be used at the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store.  You have until Thursday, November 20th at midnight EST to leave your comments.  The winner will be posted on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog on Friday, November 21st!

Here is a card I made using the new Companion Words stamp set and the Birthday Word Die along with the candle image from the Birthday Bash stamp set:

Creative Nugget:  The candles were stamped in a rainbow of colors...then the word "Birthday" was cut out with the Birthday Word Die.  The word was cut four more times in white and once in black and layered back into the space in the candle image.  Wink of Stella glitter was added to the candle flames and to the word. Glossy Accents was also added to the word.  One of the Companion Words was stamped three times on the banner and a scattering of sequins was added to finish the card.  An old Mojo Monday sketch was used for the layout.

This next sample shows the versatility of the Bare Tree Die.  The little leaves and the flower are so cute and can be used to make a tree for any season.

Creative Nugget: The hillside scene was created with different colors of designer papers to represent each of the four seasons. Four trees were cut with the Bare Tree Die.  The little leaves and the flower from the die set were used to create the seasonal trees. White Flower Soft was added to the winter tree and the little bird is from the Forest Silhouettes Die Set.  The sentiment from God's Purpose was perfect for my little scene.  A button and some twine finish the card.

My last sample is from the adorable new Baked for You stamp set and the Baked for You Die Set.

Creative Nugget:  The card base was created with Neenah Solar Crest card stock, Soft Suede card stock, and some scraps of DP.  The little scalloped border is from the Bookmarks & More Die Set.  The Cupcakes, Cherries, and Rolling Pin, all from the Baked for You stamp set were colored with Copic Markers and cut with the Baked for You Dies.  Glitter was added to the frosting and Glossy Accents added to the cherries for some texture.  Baker's Twine, a button, and sequins finish the card.

A Look Back at ODBD Stellar November Release

Welcome, my friends!  Today we are taking a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs November 2014 Release.  The stamps and dies released this month are perfect for creating Christmas cards as well as cards of encouragement throughout the year!  Here is a starry project I created using several of the fun new products released this month and an old favorite:

Another view:

Creative Nugget:  THIS Tutorial on Splitcoaststampers was used to help with the creation of the base for my starry pop up box. Coordinating papers were stitched to True Black mats for each of the box panels.  Then the fun of filling the box began.  All of the stars were cut with the Sparkling Stars Dies…LOVE these!  Some of the dies were nested inside each other to create star frames. Others were clear embossed using the His Birth stamp set and dye inks to match the DP.  I inked up the stamp first in VersaMark ink, then added the dye ink before stamping onto the Fine Linen card stock.  This enabled the ink to stay wet long enough to add the clear embossing powder.  The smaller stars were stamped with VersaMark on colored card stock and embossed with clear sparkle embossing glitter.  The sentiment from the Come Let Us Adore Him stamp set was stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink and clear embossed on the large star on the back panel.  The sentiment on the front flap is from the Snowflake Stars stamp set and it is mounted to a Quatrefoil Design die cut.  The tiny stars were made by dry embossing a black piece of craft metal and wiping acetone over the raised surfaces to let the silver backing show through.  The dies cut through the craft metal with no problem.  Each star was adhered to a strip of acetate and attached to the box.  Seam binding, metallic thread, and rhinestones were added to finish the box.

Here are the products available at the
Our Daily Bread Designs Store
that were used to create this pop up box:

ODBD November 2014 Release

Hello friends!  Welcome to Our Daily Bread Designs November Release!  Yikes…only two more months until Christmas…where has this year gone?  Oh my stars…not only is this month's shining release by Our Daily Bread Designs perfect for creating those last minute Christmas cards, but also wonderful for creating dazzling cards of encouragement throughout the year!  Get ready…you don't want to miss any of this star gazing experience!

Three winners will be randomly chosen from the comments left on the designers blogs to receive a $15 Gift Certificate to the ODBD Store, to be used toward the purchase of ODBD Stamps found in the "stamps column" of the website. You have until November 2, 2014 at 9:00 p.m. EDT to leave your comments!  The Winners will be posted on the ODBD Blog on November 3rd, so be sure to check back there to see if you won!

Creative Nugget:  The sentiment from His Birth was stamped on Neenah Solar Crest card stock and the panel embossed with swiss dots.  Strips of paper from the Christmas 2014 Paper Collection were stitched to Smokey Shadow card stock and a strip of embossed Solar Crest, stitched to a Beautiful Border, was popped up on top.  The card front was then mounted to a Smokey Shadow card base.  A Fancy Foliage flourish was mounted diagonally across the horizontal strip.  The largest star from the His Birth stamp set was white embossed on Kraft card stock and cut with the matching Sparkling Star Die.  An Action Wobble spring was used to attach the star to the front of the card, making it jiggle when touched…FUN!  A bit of twine was used to finish the card.

Creative Nugget:  This card was simply made by layering the die cuts from the Flourish Star Pattern Die…so easy, but so elegant! LOVE this die set!  The layers from base up are as follows…Neenah Solar Crest card base, Silver embossed die cut, Winter Paper Collection panel, Neenah flourish star pattern die cut, silver glitter paper die cut, Neenah star die cut, and finally the little shining star die cut.  The sentiment from the His Birth stamp set was silver embossed on a Spellbinders banner die cut.  A bow made from metallic silver thread was attached under the last star layer, and silver pearls were added to finish the card.  A copper version of the same card can be seen below.  It's hard to see in the photos, but these cards really sparkle in real life!
